Johnny 'Jump Up' Grim, 73 of Beckley, died Wednesday April 19, 2017 in the Raleigh General Hospital. He was the son of the late Robert Lee and Francis Enola Linkous Grim and was born in Raleigh County, March 12, 1944. Johnny was the 15th of seventeen children, a retired coal miner, member of the UMWA and a US Army veteran. He was a longtime volunteer to Independence High School Athletics, a coach for Sophia Girls Softball League and president of the Trap Hill Little League. He was also preceded in death by brothers Emmitt, Russell, Edward, Robert and Eugene Grim, sisters Dorothy Morrison and Virginia Evans. Surviving are his loving wife of 45 years, Faye Carter Grim; son, Greg Grim and wife Dee of Summersville; daughter, Melanie McMillan and husband David of Fayetteville. Grandchildren: Jared Bieszczat, Jordan and Gabby McMillan, Travis and Hannah Grim, Aaron and Marcus Evans, and 3 great-grandchildren. Brothers, James of Laurel, DE, Charles of Seaford, DE, Mason of Beckley, Mark Grim of Muskego, WI, and sisters, Louanna McGraw of Cool Ridge, Reva Meadows of Newport News, VA, Margaret Raines of Ballard, Shelby Jean Smith of St Albans and Mary Hawkins of Princewick. Above all things he loved and treasured his family more than anything. In keeping with his wishes his body was cremated. The Waters Funeral Chapel in Summersville was in charge of arrangements.
