Obituary

Kenneth G. White, 86, of Cedarville, WV moved on to his Heavenly Home in the early morning hours of September 24, 2018. Kenneth was born in Perkins, WV on September 20, 1932 to the late Albert Ray and Floda (Hart) White. He was the oldest son of their twelve children. On January 17, 1953, he was united in marriage to the late Eunice Louise Haines. In addition to his parents and his wife, Kenneth was preceded in death by sisters, Treva Berry and Willadean Moyers and brothers-in-law, Wilbur Marks, Charles Shaffer, Gene Stump, and Albert Born. Mr. White served in the United States Army and he was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Normantown High School and West Virginia University and attended Glenville State College. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Normantown, WV. Kenneth served as WV State Park Superintendent at North Bend State Park in Cairo, WV and often spoke of how he enjoyed the work there. Kenneth also served as a teacher at Normantown High School. He retired from the B.F. Goodrich plant in Avon Lake, Ohio. Upon retirement, Kenneth and his late wife moved back home to West Virginia. In his Cedarville home, he enjoyed working in the garden and making beautiful furniture and wood-working projects for his family and friends. He considered his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as jewels in his crown and his treasures in life. He was happy to tell his friends and family of their accomplishments. Surviving Kenneth are his four children: Darlene (Nathaniel) Silos of Wilmington, NC, Edwin (Monica) White of Perkins, WV, Danny (Michelina) White of Cedarville, WV and Sherry (Dale) Andrews of Taylors, SC; ten grandchildren: Nathan (Bridgitte) Silos, Elena (Dean) Bauer, Heather (Kelland) Garland, Amanda White, Dana White, Naomi (Roni) Grover, Rose Anna White, Caleb (Theresa) White, Katie (Tyler) Edwards, and Seth (Cody) Andrews; and 18 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters: Fay Marks, June Shaffer, Kay (Doug) Henline, Nina Stump, Marjorie Born, Connie (Gary) Gainer, and Joyce (Larry) Fisher; and brothers: Dana (Caren) White and Austin (Gerry) White. Friends and family are invited to the visitation at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Normantown, WV on Saturday, September 29 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm and the funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Normantown, WV with full military rite with American Legion Post #33, Sutton.
