William “Cotton” Leonard Jarvis, 75, of Richwood, WV, passed away on January 26, 2024, at JW Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV, after a short illness. William was born on April 22, 1948, in Canvas, WV to the late Cecil Jarvis and Gertrude Hartley Jarvis. He retired from the WV Department of Highways after being employed for 34 years. William loved to play with his grandchildren, he also loved coaching and playing baseball. He enjoyed many things in his life, his 1948 tractor, playing cards, watching the western channel, and swimming, which he was a great swimmer. William was a great guy. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jay Jarvis and David Jarvis. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Linda Jarvis, his son, William “Billy” Leonard Jarvis, Jr. of Richwood, WV, his daughter, Pamela Jarvis Fields and her husband Jeremy Fields of Summersville, WV; his grandchildren, Gabriel Lynn Fields, Nevaeh Grace Jarvis, Gracie Lou Fields and Gus Leo Fields; brothers, Tom Jarvis and Ronnie Jarvis both of Summersville, WV; sister, Joyce Jeffrey of Craigsville, WV Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 11:00am-12:00pm at Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, Richwood, WV with the funeral service starting at 12:00pm. Jeremy Nicholas will be officiating. Interment will follow at Buckle Cemetery, Craigsville, WV. Arrangements were made by Simons-Coleman funeral home, Richwood, WV.
