V. Grace Delaney, 77, of Flemington, WV (Brownton Community), passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. She was born at Brownton on December 31, 1941, a daughter of the late Jasper and Mary (Cleavenger) Flint. Grace was preceded in death by her husband Jesse L. Delaney on February 17, 2019. Grace is survived by four children: Kristi Freeman and husband Tom of Moatsville, Roger Delaney and wife Barbara of Bridgeport, Donnie Delaney and wife Kathy of Brownton, and Lesa Smith and husband Mike of Mount Airy, MD; seven grandchildren: Mikhela Freeman of Moatsville, Brock Freeman of Moatsville, Scott Delaney and wife Charee of Meadowbrook, Angela Delaney and fiancé Shaun Roles of FL, Kimberly Delaney of Brownton, Mychael Smith and wife Aubrey of Mount Airy, MD, and Jakob Smith and fiancé Angela Russo of Mount Airy, MD; two great-grandchildren: Alex Delaney and Camdyn Smith; one sister Carolyn Sivak of Barrackville; and one brother Jasper Flint of Apex, NC. In addition to her parents and husband Grace was preceded in death by two brothers: Wade and Henry Flint; and one sister, Martha Jean Lang. Grace was a graduate of Philippi High School Class of 1959 and was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. She worked various jobs over the years including waitressing at the Sheraton Inn, Sonny’s Restaurant, and The Villa. She later retired from the United States Postal Service where she had worked at locations in Brownton, Flemington, Rosemont, Moatsville, Simpson, and Thornton. Grace enjoyed singing, painting, gardening, and cooking. Her greatest love came from spending with her family and friends though. Family and friends will be received at the Bradley J. Mayle Funeral Home in Flemington, WV, on Monday, November 4, 2019 from 4 until 8pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 11am with Pastor Paul Byrd and Pastor Jim Strawderman presiding.
