Margaret Leigh Cole, 87, of St. Albans, passed away January 15, 2017. She was born January 15, 1930, in Keith, Boone County, WV, to James Elmer and Mandy Mary Ball Gundy. In addition to her parents and two siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ray Sr., and son, Harold Ray, Jr. Margaret was the wife of a West Virginia coal miner, a mother of five children and an inveterate homemaker who would settle in her daily habit to make her family's home comfortable. She was truly a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She was attentive and persistent in doing anything, always constant in an effort to accomplish something good. Margaret enjoyed her dog, Molly, Christmas in winter, Mountaineer football in the fall, crocuses in springtime and summer, so she could stay warm. A West Virginia Mother is a blessed soul indeed ? She tends to every whimper, every cry and every need. She knows the way to comfort and the way to dry a tear, with smiles, big hugs and an understanding ear. For a West Virginia Mother has a gentle heart and hand to raise her precious children born on West Virginia land. She is survived by sons, James (Diana) Cole of Hurricane, David Cole of Cross Lanes; daughters, Diedra (Vito) Randazzo of Rochester, Illinois, and Deborah (Timothy) Akers of St. Albans; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A graveside memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, January 19, at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston. Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, 110 B Street, St. Albans, is assisting the Cole family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W., Charleston, WV 25387. - See more at: http://www.wvgazettemail.com/OBIT/20170117/margaret-cole#sthash.OL8aOIgt.dpuf
